Paul & Mitt wave goodbye to another bit of industrial America (gazettextra.com).

Who are you going to believe?

Paul Ryan or your lying eyes?

Many major media organizations — including Fox News — have commented on the shameless mendacity of Paul Ryan’s speech at the Republican National Convention. But why rely on mere words to demonstrate Ryan’s prevarication?

Among the grievances that Ryan laid at President Obama’s feet last night was the claim that he didn’t save a Janesville, Wisconson (Ryan’s hometown) GM plant.

The photo above is from the Janesville Gazette; the photo observes the last GM vehicle to roll off the Janesville assembly line in December of 2008. Undoubtedly, the decision to close the plant was known to the community for months prior to the actual closing date. It is fair to infer Ryan’s knowledge of it and the circumstances surrounding the closing.

The thing is, of course, that Barack Obama was not sworn in as president until January 2009.

But I suppose if Mitt Romney can retroactively resign from Bain Capital, Barack Obama could retroactively become president.

Rachel Maddow posted a story about this on Facebook.
