Who is Karma, and why is she so mean?

Asks Julie Rosen, plaintively

The Minnesota Senate Rules Committee met this morning. There were some, well, changes made. And Republican Sen. Rosen reports that pay cuts to Republican staffers are “mean spirited.” (Now, that’s funny.) According to the Hot Dish Politics post at the first link:

Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk, DFL-Cook, said their actions were fair and corrected Republicans’ moves, when they were in charge, that put people “willy nilly” into salary categories that made no sense given their experience. When Republicans were in charge, Bakk had vigorous complaints about proposed cuts [they weren’t merely proposed, by the way] to DFL staff but he said the Democrats’ action on Thursday were not pay back for that.

And, apparently, the Senate has to watch its money because of the guy in the chicken suit:

DFL Sen Bakk says it out loud: Cuts to GOP pay because of Brodkorb legal bills after inappropriate relationship w fmr Maj Ldr. [Pat Kessler tweet]

If you don’t find it ironic and funny that earlier hiring decisions by the Republican Caucus are coming back to bite the Republican Caucus, well, you just aren’t paying attention.
