Here’s your chance to put your money where your mouth is, Bob

Go on, tell ’em in person

Here’s a chance for your dream assignment, Bob.

Bob Davis said on the radio that he was sick and tired of Newtown parents of shooting victims getting all the attention:

“I’m sick and tired of seeing these victims trotted out, given rides on Air Force One, hauled into the Senate well, and everyone is … terrified of these victims. I would stand in front of them and tell them, ‘Go to hell.’ ”

Okay, Bob, here’s your chance. Newtown, Conn. resident Brad Greene has offered Bob an expense-paid trip to Newtown to deliver his comments in person. It isn’t Air Force One, Bob, but it is still the offer of a lifetime. But, apparently Bob is still thinking it over:

Recently, I sent Davis an e-mail offering to pay his travel expenses to Newtown to stand in front of people and repeat the words he said on the radio. It is no surprise that he has not responded to my offer.

At a time when so many people across the country are joining to support one another in times of tragedy, it is disgraceful that Davis would use his platform in such a divisive manner. I feel strongly that words matter and that Davis’ comments are an embarrassment to the good city of Minneapolis.

If you need a lift to the airport, Bob, just let me know.

Thanks for your feedback. If we like what you have to say, it may appear in a future post of reader reactions.
