Comment on Sore Loser

Reader Sherry commented on a post about Katherine Kersten, Sore Loser.

I love it when these people proclaim that “marriage has always been between one man and one woman in the bible.” Apparently they do not read the great book in which marriage was always between one man and many women. If the man died she was passed on to the brother. And if the woman could not become pregnant, an angel would come down from above and provide the service, when she was only 100 or so. (Abraham and Sarah)

Marriage in the bible was actually based on property rights, nothing more. Kersten should be asked if she also thinks women should go sit in a red tent when menstruating, another bible tradition. Perhaps Avidor can draw her head poking out of a red tent telling us “no one has the remotest idea where our society will go if we fail to follow our biblical tradition and allow women in the home at times when they are unable to produce children.” And attract bears.

Somebody else took me to task for my understanding of the scope of Newtonian physics, but we don’t need to go into that.
