MN-06: Emmer takes up the “paid agitator” swill
Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN), who is the US House Majority Whip, has been mouthing off ever more ridiculously of late.
Emmer speculated many of the agitators were “chaos agents” or paid protesters, adding that he believes the majority are from outside the state.
“It’s very sad what’s happening in our state, but I’m hopeful that it’s going to settle down very soon,” he said, accusing Gov. Tim Walz and state Attorney General Keith Ellison of creating the conditions for chaos by allowing criminal illegal aliens to remain in the state.

This approach in fact goes back to the 1960s at least. Establishment types then constantly howled that student protesters and their allies were being ordered about by “communist agitators” and the like, because there was no way that red-blooded American youths could possibly get so worked up about issues like institutionalized racial discrimination and the Vietnam War on their own.
Does Emmer really, wholeheartedly believe this? It’s possible, but I kind of doubt it. What I don’t doubt is that he has no problem whatsoever with spewing utter BS every damn day, if it will help keep him in power. Tom Emmer is a near-perfect example of the combination of so little real integrity and so much frantic cowardice and cognitive ossification that drives electeds who are sticking with Trump to the end.
